Your WIP in GIFs Tag

I wasn’t exactly tagged by anyone but I saw Savannah @ TheBookProphet did this tag, and it seemed interesting. It has been awhile since I did a tag, or posted anything really, and to prevent this blog from being a ghost town, I thought, why not.

I don’t think I’ve ever talked about my WIPs, other than during CampNanoWriMo (and only to my cabinmates), so this would be the perfect opportunity.

I am working on 3 WIPs, and those 3 are connected to one another. It’s actually a series of standalone (although past characters will certainly have cameos), and there’s going to be 6 books in the series. In this tag, I’m going to focus on my WIP entitled, The Lilydale Line, which kind of came to life in 2014 (although it has a different name back then).

Reader Problems Book Tag

OH MY GOD! OHMYGOD OHMYGOD OH MY GOD!!! I SCRATCHED MY MOM’S CAR! Technically, I guess it’s my dad’s since he pays for it, but it’s my mom’s because she uses it. But asdfghjklasdfghjkl; I SCRATCHED THE CAR! And not even outside the house yet! I scratched it when I reversed out the house! ;w; Now I probably wouldn’t be allowed to drive that car again, ever.

Anyways, on a happier note… I present to you A BOOK TAG~

I didn’t have anything to post at the moment. I didn’t have any book reviews done, I didn’t have any rec list, or articles or short stories. So, I thought I could do a tag. I don’t remember who made it originally, but I found one done by Erinbook @ The Book Nut.

1. You have 20,000 books in your TBR, how in the world do you decide what to read next?

It usually depends on my mood, and then, priorities. If there’s a book I borrowed on my TBR, then I’ll read those first (if that’s what I have the mood to read).

2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?

I am committed. I’ll finish it even if it will take me a long, long time. The idea of putting down a book when I’m already halfway through because I don’t like it feels like giving up. I’m a very stubborn person. Of course, there are a few that I did give up on, but I never reached halfway for those.

3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?

No. I will end up not wanting to read if I try to force myself. I will probably look for a book to read, regardless whether I’ve read it before, that will make me want to read another book. After that, I’ll just read more book, and the book that I know will give me a book hangover will be kept for last. Because reading a book that will give you a book hangover first, when you want to catch up on your reading challenge, will be counter productive no matter how much you love it.

4. The covers of a series you love do not match, how do you cope?

I rant about it. Everyday. To my sister and my book buddies and on my social media accounts. And I’ll cry about it. Then, I put it on my list of books-to-buy-because-the-cover-I-have-sucks, and wait until I have extra cash to buy them.

5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?

It’s either Marsyee or Zuzu. Those two are the only ones I know who I can talk about books with, and we usually share the same interest on types of books. And I have yet to make close enough friends in the book community with whom I could bond with.

6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?

The thing about me is, if I’m out in public without my friends or sister, I’ll have my complete poker face on. Defense mechanism. And I never bawl when I cry because of books, or make any sound, just tears streaming down. So, people usually don’t notice. Unless they bend down and try to meet my eyes and saw those watery, red eyes.

7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?

Of course. I would reread it even if I still remember what happened, just so I could prolong the feelings when I read that series. But if the gap between when I finished the first book and when the sequel came out is just like, less than three months, I will probably go ahead and read the second book instead of rereading the first book.

8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?

I’m not sure if me being blunt is polite, but that’s the only thing I say every time someone (aside from Marsyee and Zuzu, and my sister) asked to borrow my book. I’m sorry but I don’t trust you enough to let you borrow my book. Of course, I will say it’s an ‘it’s-not-you-it’s-me’ thing so that the person won’t be too hurt, if they’re feeling hurt at all. If that person is someone I don’t feel comfortable about being blunt with (like my mom or aunt), I’ll say, “My book is currently with a friend of mine.” And they’ll forget about it after awhile. A little while lie never hurt anyone, and I’m sure everyone’s told a white lie once in awhile.

9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?

Fanfictions. Although that is kind of dangerous, because once I started only reading fanfictions, it is kind of hard for me to stop and I’ll end up reading fanfictions 24 hours a days. Sometimes, I will reread some old favorite, something easy and short like Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys until I’m out of my reading slump.

10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?

Three books. Unless I have extra cash on me. But if not, I will never spend more that RM 120 (equivalent to three books, more or less). But if there’s an end of the year discount, I’ll make an exception and probably end up buying six-seven books.

11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?

It depends. Most of the time, I will read the book immediately, and leave one or two days to process before starting on another book. So the books will probably only sit on my shelf for less than two weeks. But if  one of the books gave me a book hangover, it would probably take me months before I could read another book.

So, this is my reader problems book tag. I had fun answering these (and I had fun reading other people’s too). I hope you enjoyed reading mine. Is there anything we have in common? Or any thoughts about my answers? Please don’t be shy and tell me in the comments 🙂

I am not tagging anyone, so feel free too do this if you’re interested.

The Reader’s Confession Tag

Hi everyone! 😀

In my attempt to be more active, I decided to do a book tag. I know I should be writing book reviews instead, but right now, I’m suffering from a block and I can’t find words for my thoughts.

Anyways, I saw this tag on a few blogs, but I don’t remember which though. It is called The Reader’s Confession Tag, and it seemed interesting, so I decided to try. 😀

The Goodreads Tag

1. What is the last book that you marked as “Read?”

Fall by Michelle Chow. It was a short, LGBTQIA novel that I received from Netgalley months ago, but just read recently. I know, I’m so sorry ;w;

2. What book are you currently reading?

I am currently reading The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater (I actually started reading it when it came out, but before I finished, I was distracted by other books and never picked this up again…until now), Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan (I started reading this a while ago too, but like TRK, I was distracted by other books), and Of Pens and Swords by Rena Rocford.

The OTP Book Tag

Wow. Okay. So, I started this after I saw Thoughts on Tomes on YT video back in February, but then, I left this sitting in my draft for weeks. I’ve been, well, not really busy, but I was kind of “disinterested” in doing things for a while.

Anyways…the questions.

Neville Longbottom and Luna Lovegood

Okay, so maybe they’ve never really been in a relationship, considering in the wikia Neville was classified as “a close friend” and she married someone else later in her life, but still… I really love this pairing.

Simon Lewis and Isabelle Lightwood

It’s not that I didn’t like that, but I’m not that crazy about them. Although all of that changed after I read Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy, a collection of novellas about Simon when he was training to be a shadowhunter.

Rupert Frayne and Muriel Hardwicke

Ugh, I really hate this pairing. I don’t know how Rupert could fall for Muriel in the first place. Thank goodness he didn’t stay with Muriel in the end. Because seriously, Muriel is vile. She’s an evil witch disguised by a beautiful face. Yes, I hate Muriel. A lot.

I don’t really think I have one. At first, I thought of Ron and Hermione, but then again, no. I enjoy reading slow burn romance, so I don’t mind if it takes them a long time to get together, as long as they do get together.

Will, Tessa, and Jem a.k.a HeronGrayStairs

This lovely threesome is my favourite non-canon OTP. But they might as well be CANON because Will loves Jem and Jem loves Will (albeit not romantically), and Tessa loves Will, Will loves Tessa, Tessa loves Jem, and Jem loves Tessa. Everyone loves everyone. So yeah. I love all these pairings, and because I couldn’t choose, I ended up loving them as a threesome. Saves me from the headache of trying to figure out which pair I love more, you know?

Blue Sargent, Noah Czerny, Richard Gansey III, Ronan Lynch and Adam Parrish (art by Azeher)

I seriously love Blue and her raven boys. The interaction between all of them is just so beautiful. I even have a headcanon where Blue and Ronan becomes bff. haha

Clary Fray and Simon Lewis

Yes, I’m cheating, but I can’t help it. I know Clary’s a girl, but THESE TWO IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE BROTP, OKAY?!

Clary Fray and Jace Herondale

Clace is my second favourite OTP in The Mortal Instruments series, but Clace in the Shadowhunters TV series made me cringe so much.

Bella and Edward

Yeah, I haven’t really read any of the Twilight books. I kind of gave up halfway through the first book and I’ve only watched the movies. But seriously, I can’t really ship this OTP. I don’t ship Bella and Jake either, but I don’t ship this two. Because, really Edward, watching your love interest sleep without her knowledge is seriously very creepy.

Magnus Bane and Alec Lightwood a.k.a MALEC ❤ ❤ ❤

Yes, I ship this two so hard! They are not the first LGBTQ+ OTP I ship, but they are my favourite. Seriously, you can ask my sister. I drove her crazy every time I opened my mouth and talked about Malec. 😀

Ronan Lynch and Adam Parrish a.k.a Pynch (art by Azeher)

Yes, I’m cheating, but I can’t help it. I love them so much too. They are my second favourite LGBTQ+ OTP. They are not canon YET, but I am hoping that they will be…in the final book of The Raven Cycle. Please please please Maggie, I’m begging you. I know most of the readers who read TRC would want Pynch to be CANON too! >.<

Aristotle Mendoza and Dante Quintana

Yes, I’m still cheating, but I can’t leave them out. This is my third fav LGBTQ+ OTP, and the best thing about them is…THEY ARE CANON! Yush! haha I love them so much, especially Dante. My baby~ >o<

Yes, Malec is my all time favourite OTP. Seriously, no one knows how much I love them. Well, except for my sister…and my two friends who I always ranted/fangirl with. Seriously, Malec made me craugh (crying + laughing). Only something I love so so much could do that. Malec made me do nothing but think about them every single moment. Because of Malec, I could only focus on Malec fanfictions. I love Malec so much, I couldn’t think about other OTPs for MONTHS! I just… Malec is my no. 1 love.

So…that is all from me. I’m not going to tag anyone, so feel free to do this tag. Thank you for reading. 🙂

The Coffee Book Tag

I was tagged to do this by masonlou@Louiselovesbooks. Thank you for tagging me~ I’ve wanted to do this after watching a few booktubers doing this, but didn’t have the motivation. Until I was tagged. haha

Anyways, coffee ❤ I love coffee so much, but it always gives me headaches nowadays after I drank too much during senior year in high school to help me stay up at night so that I could study. Now I can only drink them at least once a month uwu

Black: A series that’s tough to get into but has hardcore fans

The Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer

Twilight has a lot of hardcore fans, even my friend is one. I read the first book while I was in high school, because hey, I love vampires, and I was in my vampire phase. But the vampires…they are sparkly! I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer, so I love the vampires that turned to dust when they are exposed to sunlight, or when they are staked. I tried to give this is a chance, but I just can’t. It was so hard to finish the first book, I didn’t bother trying to read the second.

Peppermint mocha: A book that gets more popular during the winter or a festive time of year

The Brides Quartet series by Nora Roberts

Vision in While (The first book) and Happy Ever After (the fourth book) timeline is in winter. I’m not sure about others, but this books are always the books that my aunts and I read during winter+Xmas simply because it’s easy-going, not too complicated, romance-y novels. Besides that, I don’t really have books that is specifically for Xmas so…

Hot chocolate: A favourite children’s book

Mary Kate and Ashley: Two of a Kind series (or any Mary Kate and Ashley books actually)

This is a children’s book, right? haha Well, I’ll consider it children’s book since I read it when I was 9. Anyways, other than Nancy Drew, and the Hardy Boys series, this is one of my favourite when I was a kid 🙂

Double shot of espresso: A book that kept you on the edge of your seat from start to finish

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

I started reading this immediately after I picked it up at the bookstore, and I couldn’t put it down until I finished it.I remember I started reading at night, so I was so sleepy halfway through because it was already after midnight, but I just couldn’t stop reading and sleep, so I end up finishing it at 6 in the morning.

Starbucks: A book you see everywhere

The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins

Like seriously. Evey time I walk into MPH bookstore and two other local bookstores, and tadaaa! Well, I always see The Infernal Devices books, and City of Heavenly Fire too, and I am not ashamed to admit that I would open the book and smell them and just caress City of Heavenly Fire even though I have my own copies at home. haha Yes, I am this weird. My sister is sometimes ashamed to go to the bookstore with me.

That hipster coffee shop: A book by an indie author (a shoutout)

Angelfall by Susan Ee

I found this book when I was looking at books during my university’s “Adopt a Book” program. At first I didn’t think much about it because I’ve never heard about the author before, and I just “adopted” it because the cover looks pretty and the summary is great. I didn’t expect to get hooked, and later, I found out that Susan Ee is an indie author. And…I don’t want to ramble, but I think she’s cool~ 😀

Oops! I accidentally got decaf: A book you were expecting more from

The Accident Season by Moïra Fowley-Doyle

I heard about this book when I watched one of Christine’s (polandbananaBOOKS) videos. And I read the summary, and it made me so curious. And when I read it, the mystery just builds and builds and but nearing the end, it’s just disappointing. I felt like I got all hyped up for nothing.
PS- On a side note, I really hate decaf. haha My sister drinks decaf, and I tried a sip, and it’s just horrible.

The perfect blend: A book or series that was both bitter and sweet, but ultimately satisfying

The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare

If I try to explain, it might turn into an essay. So I guess…to keep it short, this series is the perfect blend for me because it made me feel a LOT of emotions; it made me cry, laugh, sad, angry, frustrated…everything!

Green tea: A book or series that is quietly beautiful

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

This book, it’s a coming of age book, a book about the protagonist discovering himself. It has no plot, and it’s slow-paced, it’s basically a character study book. Some people may find it boring, but I think it’s beautiful. The author wrote it very beautifully, and the friendship, and the characters hardships while they discover themselves…it’s just beautiful.

Chai tea: A book or series that makes you dream of far off places

Bittersweet by Sarah Monk, A Perfect Propsal by Katie Fforde, and Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Reading Bittersweet and A Perfect Proposal made my desire to visit Cornwall, or any other countrysides in England even more. Because, seriously, it looks so beautiful, and I love the atmosphere of small towns in England. Well, at least I love them when I watch movies, TV shows or read books.
And reading Anna and the French Kiss made me change my mind and want to visit Paris again. I went to Paris four years ago, and my experience there wasn’t that great. I didn’t speak French, and my sister only knows the basic. So, I really felt awful when I was in Paris last time. But this book made the places they went to so fun, I felt like going there again.

Earl grey: A favourite classic

Little Women, Jo’s Boys, and Little Men by Louisa M. Alcott

I really enjoyed Little Women, and when I found out there are sequels to the books, I hunt them down, and read them, and I love them just as much as the first book. Well, I love Louisa M. Alcott’s other books too (Eight Cousins, and Rose in Bloom), but these are my favs. I also love Jane Austen’s books, especially Pride and Prejudice, but Little Women is my no. 1 fav.

I hope you had fun reading~ Thank you for spending your time reading ’em. I’m not going to tag anyone, but if anyone wants to do this, then feel free to do so. 🙂

Three Daily Quotes Tag | Day 2

Ooops. So, I forgot to post this yesterday. Let’s just pretend that it’s Day 2, kay~ So…

I was tagged to do this by Masonlou @ LouiseLovesBooks.

The rules are:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Post a Quote for 3 consecutive days
  3. Nominate 3 bloggers each day

Day 2

Well, I know I have to tag three other bloggers, but I’m writing this on my phone right now, so it’s a hassle to check the names of other bloggers and return to this page. So, I won’t tag anyone right now, and will do that as soon as I return home. Maybe. 0rz
