Top 5 Wednesday | Favorite LGBTQ+ Reads (19th Apr ’17)

Hello everyone~ Wow, the last time I posted for T5W was March :O

For all those new people who doesn’t know what T5W is… T5W is a discussion group on Goodreads, created by Lainey, and now hosted by Sam. Each Wednesday (duh!) we’ll post our top 5 list (sometimes more) based on the given topics.

This week’s topic is Favorite LGBTQ+ Reads. This has got to be one of my favourite topics ever. The topic is kind of self-explanatory, but to make it clearer, for today’s topic, we’ll get to talk about our favorite books that feature LGBTQ+ characters or are by LGBTQ+ authors. Unfortunately, my LGBTQ+ reads are limited to books featuring only GB and Q.

Top 5 Wednesday | Top 5 Fictional Jobs I’d Want to Have (1st March ’17)

Hey there everyone~ So, it’s March! I didn’t realize it was already March. Anyways, I missed last week’s topic, but I can’t miss this one! Because, one, this topic is so good! I really love it.

First of all, the usual spiel. Top 5 Wednesday is a discussion group is Goodreads, made by Lainey, and is now moderated by Sam. This week’s topic is Top 5 Fictional Jobs I’d Want to Have. I’m sure I don’t have to explain that one anymore.

Without further ado…

1. High Warlock

8643ac25f8e860ab1e331c3cfebda6bd

I think I would love being a high warlock like Magnus. I like that it makes me feel needed (haha), like when Shadowhunters need someone to open up Portals for them, and being a high warlock will give me the power that normal warlocks don’t have. Unless, you’re someone like Catarina, I guess. But what I love about being a warlock most of all is MAGIC! xD

The only downside is the politics. I really hate politics.

2. Magizoologist

rehost_2016_11_14_fd185d6f-90a3-4166-acfc-bf812398dd63I think I would love this job. If the real me pursue this job, I will probably make a mess, or die but I’m ignoring that and just do things I like…so there. I really love the magical creatures in the Harry Potter world, so I know I would really enjoy this job.

Plus, did I mention I love magic? 😀

3. Kingsman Field Agent (or Merlin’s position)

kingsman-secret-service-trailer-breakdown-11

Again, I will probably, most definitely, will die if I become a field agent. But I love the adrenaline rush. Or well, I love the second hand adrenaline rush (so just imagine if I could really feel that rush).

But of course, I can’t in real life because I’m too scared, too paranoid, has too much anxieties, too nervous etc. I mean, I’m even scared of heights, so yeah.

4. Q (Quartermaster)

b23_03608_r_post

I don’t know why I love jobs that real life me will probably die if I ever get that job. But anyways, yes, I will probably die taking this job because, working at MI6…imagine if it’s under attack? And I will probably crumble too because of all the pressure. But I love this job too, because well, the adrenaline rush, and you know, people need me. Plus, the power (hahaha).

5. Patissiere/ Baker

20161207_143932

I love baking, I really do! Having my own bakery is one of my dreams, which is why I would so love it if I get to have Jacob’s job. Or even Lola’s dads’ job (from Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins). Even if theirs are limited to pies.

So, those are five of my favourite fictional jobs…or at least the ones that I could think of at the moment. The jobs I listed are in no particular order.

So, is there any jobs here that you fancy too? What are your favourite fictional jobs? I would love to here from all of you 🙂

My Dream Author Panel

dream-author-panel

Hey guys! Close your eyes and imagine, you’re attending a conference with a panel consisting of your favourite authors or even your favourite fictional characters. Last week, Eventbrite inspired me to do just that with a project they’re working on. And because we never get to have foreign authors coming to Malaysia for events (well, Sarah J Maas did came last year I think), I went crazy with this.

For those who may or may not know, Eventbrite is the largest self-service ticketing platform in the world that helps people find and plan events. Interested in hosting your own conference? Check out Eventbrite’s Conference Planning Page for useful and free tools. Continue reading

November/Birthday Book Haul 2016

Hello guys~ It’s been awhile since I posted, and even longer since I posted a book haul. You may or may not know, last month, November, was my birth month. I am born on the 30th of November, and because it was my birthday, I received discounts at my local bookstore. So, of course, I went all out and bought books.

Tadaaa~! This is my November/ Birthday book haul. I bought all but one at my local bookstore, MPH Bookstore. And for An Illustrated History of Noble Shadowhunters and Denizens of Downworld, I bought from Book Depository.

So, I bought this mainly because I’m such a Shadowhunters chronicle fan that I have to own all Shadowhunter-related books out there.

Of course, that’s not the only reason I bought this. I bought it because I really love Cassandra Jean’s arts for TID, TMI, TDA, TLH, and Bane Chronicles too.

And another reason is…I write fanfictions. Therefore, this book is great for research purposes 😀

I have read these novellas earlier this year. I owned the eBook copy for the novellas, but as I mentioned before, because it is Shadowhunter-related, I have, no need to own the physical copy. So, tadaa~ I bought it.

3. What’s A Girl Gotta Do? by Holly Bourne

I’ve read the previous two books (Am I Normal Yet? and How Hard Can Love Be?) and I really loved them. Which is why, I bought this one too. I would’ve bought it earlier, but if I waited till my birthday, I get a discount. So there~ :3

97814749272224. …And A Happy New Year? by Holly Bourne

I bought this one from the same bookstore, but unlike the others, I bought this one at one of the outlets in my town instead of online. Because for some reason, the one online was listed as “Paperback” and the one sold at the outlet was hardback and sold at the same price…which was weird. I didn’t have the chance to email customer service, so I bought the one at the outlet instead. Better safe than sorry, right? Plus, hardcover!! And the cover is beautiful~ ❤

978014135705825. Holding Up the Universe by Jennifer Niven

I’ve always loved reading books about mental illness or some disorders. In this book, one of the main character has a cognitive disorder called Prosopagnosia. I’ve only once read a story where someone had the same disorder (but it was a fanfiction), and it was great. So, I’m really looking forward to reading this book.

the-fall-of-butterflies6. The Fall of Butterflies by Andrea Proter

I’ve been wanting to buy this book since it came out but I kept on buying other books first. This book has all the elements that I like in YA Contemporary so I am looking forward to reading this. The rating on Goodreads is only 3.4 / 5 stars though, but I’m hoping that it doesn’t disappoint me.

9780373212057_fc_proof7. The Problem with Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Just like The Fall of Butterflies, I’ve been wanting to buy this book since it came out, but I ended up prioritizing other books. And similar to the Fall of Butterflies, this book also has all the elements that I love in YA Contemporary. I am really looking forward to reading this.

So… That concludes my November/Birthday Book Haul. Is there any books that I’ve listed out that you’ve read and loved, or wanted to read? Also, isn’t it sad that all the books for my birthday book haul, I bought myself. For my birthday present. LOL

30 Days Blog Challenge: Dinner Guests (Day 6)

day-6-dinner-guests

In this post, I’m supposed to list ten people I will want to invite to my hypothetical dinner party. They can be fictional characters, historical figures, people in my life…anyone. But I am just going to stick with fictional characters 😀

So, aside from characters that I want to meet (because it’s my dinner party, so of course I’ll meet them <3), other things I’ll think about when choosing are characters that I want to feed. Because dinner party… If I’m hosting at home, I will definitely cook all the meals myself. And I think I’ve mentioned it a couple of times, but I love to feed people.

So… let’s start.

30 Days Blog Challenge: On the Shelf (Day 3)

day-3-on-the-shelf

Hey guys~ It’s Day 3, I’m still doing this, and I’m still late but I’m in denial. Besides, I haven’t gone to bed yet, so it’s not yet a new day even thought it is actually 1 a.m. where I am right now. Haha

So, today’s post is On the Shelf. It is kind of self explanatory. What I have to do is list down 3 books from my shelf, and just… write how I feel about them etc.

Now, let’s get on to it…
