Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

This quote was from page 93, Percy’s thought after the toilet incident with Clarisse and other Ares kids when Annabeth was showing Percy around camp.

I didn’t understand how. But the toilets had responded to me. I had become one with plumbing.

So, what do you think of the quote? Do you have a favourite quote from the Percy Jackson books? Or any other books? πŸ˜€

Chapter Break Bingo March 2016

Hi there~ πŸ˜€ I managed to read a number of books this month (March), but that stopped after I read Lady Midnight. I always get the worst book hangover after reading Cassandra Clare’s books. *sigh*

List of books:

  1. The Raven Cycle #3: Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater (Irish/Ireland)
  2. Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan (started a series)
  3. Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan (Finished a series, birthday)
  4. Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins (Green on the cover)
  5. The Dark Artifices #1: Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare (Blue on the cover, Magic, Witch, Humor, Werewolf, Trope)
  6. Playlist for the Dead (Free Space)
  7. Sophie by Jennie Sargam (Family Dinner)

Sooo…that is all for this month. Hopefully I can cover more spaces for April Bingo πŸ™‚

Top 5 Wednesday | Fictional Items You Want (Invisibility Cloak from HP, Amplifiers from Grisha, etc) (March 16 ’16)

I know, I’m late…but I guess I’m always late these days. Anyways, this is Top 5 Wednesday. T5W was created by GingereadLainey on Goodreads, and this week’s topic is top 5 fictional items you want.

Wands (from Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling)

Having a wand would be so cool! There are so many things I will be able to do with a wand. Besides, every time I have my Harry Potter-related dreams, and I was able to use a wand and cast spell, I would often wake up with leftover adrenaline rush. Because in my dreams, I was attacked or chased by Death Eaters…haha

Floo Network (from Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling)

This would make my life so much easier! I wouldn’t have to drive to visit my friends. Seriously,Β  I get anxious and so nervous, having me behind the wheels is a danger to people around me.

Stele (From the Shadowhunter Chronicles by Cassandra Clare)

Sooo… I don’t really like the idea of being in pain by mutilating myself by carving runes on my limbs with a stele, but you have to admit, it is kind of cool, what we can do with it, assuming it doesn’t kill us. Besides, hey, with Clary’s rune, we can now make a portal. Well, kind of. I think. Or maybe it only applies to Clary.

Nectar and Ambrosia (from Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan)

Okay, so let’s just pretend these won’t kill me. It would be nice to have this in hand. You know, in case you get injured or something. Haha Not that I get out of the house much, but better safe than sorry? Besides, I have always wondered what the nectar fro PJO/HOO would taste like πŸ˜€

The Invisibility Cloak (from Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling)

I have a really bad social anxiety disorder, kind of, so I don’t really enjoy going out much, where there are crowds of people and such. Unless, I really have to that is, or when I have to attend family gatherings and other parties I can’t avoid not going to. If I have the invisibility cloak, I can just put it on after I meet people at the party so they know I’m there, and then just go to a corner, and read while I’m invisible. πŸ˜€

Sooo…That’s my top 5 list for today. At first I wanted to add the flying broom from Harry Potter, because that would be so cool, then I remembered I have a phobia of height.

Anyways, that is all from me. I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you for reading. πŸ™‚

Updates #3

Hi there… :3

So, I dropped the “Sunday” for this week because I missed Sunday, and it just seemed silly to call this “Sunday Updates” when it’s a Monday.

Anyways, first and foremost, let’s talk about real life.

Lately, I haven’t done much online (so hey, I’m sorry I’ve been neglecting you, blog! I’ll start posting book reviews again soon-ish! >.<) Instead, I’ve been busy reading and playing my piano. That’s a good and bad sign. Good because I get my readings done, although most of the books are not from my TBR for this month. Bad because, well, I was playing classical pieces from my Sonatina album. That means I’m stressed, and frustrated, annoyed, but I don’t know why…yet. And just FYI, some classical pieces are really great as a stress reliever. Such as Clementi’s Sonatina in C major β€” there are a lot of ‘fortissimo’ signs, so you get to play a lot of parts very loudly.

Other than that, hey, it’s almost April. Anyone else is going to join Camo Nanowrimo? πŸ™‚

As for fanfiction updates:

Well… Lately, I’ve been procrastinating, procrastinating, procrastinating. A lot of my new drafts has been put on the back burner, and the one I’m working on for Malec Alphabet Soup Series…well, let’s just say I’m in a writing slump right now.

Now, last but not least, book updates:

I HAVE FINISHED HEROES OF OLYMPUS BY RICK RIORDAN! YAY! lol I’ve also finished reading Playlist for the Dead, which I bought last week even though I said I won’t be buying anymore new books in March. /sigh

Now I’m going to start reading Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. Yes, I am aware that I should have read PJO first before reading HOO, but I only have book 2 for PJO. I didn’t know when I could borrow my friend’s complete PJO books, so since my sister has the complete HOO books (well, actually, no. She only has book 1-4, but I bought her the final book for her birthday present so that now she has the complete set xD), I decided to read HOO first. And gaaah! The feels! Seriously, poor precious Nico. I couldn’t wait for The Trials of Apollo to be published. πŸ˜€

On a side note, and totally unrelated (okay, not really). My mom took my 8 year old sister with her to Melbourne for the holidays. I’m so jealous! I missed Melbourne so much, and Hawthorn! And the food and drinks. Ah! It’s been almost a year since I drank Solo Lemon. It’s an Australian soft drink, and my favourite when I lived in Melbourne last year. /sigh

Top 5 Wednesday | Best Suggested Books You Loved (books recommended to you) (Feb 17 ’16)

It’s Wednesday again, and time for T5W! πŸ˜€ Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey on Goodreads. And this week’s T5W’s topic is Best Suggested Books You Loved (books recommended to you).

The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater

Two of my best friends recommended this to me. They kept fangirling about this, and one of them even made fan arts (sasyazuzu@tumblr).They lend me a copy of the first book (they are sisters) and sent me the pdf versions for the other two books. Okay, so I procrastinated on reading this because I just can’t bring myself to pick it up at first. But when I did, oh boy~ They were right! I fell in love with the books~ ❀ The raven boys s are so lovely, my babies~ And Blue was amazing~! And Ronan Lynch~ Damn that boy, I love him so much.

Anna and the French Kiss, & Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins

Okay, so I discovered this book on my own at the book shop, and while it was love at first sight for me because the cover is just lovely, and the summary contains words that made me weak (boarding school, and Paris), it also contains something that I try to avoid in books. Well, the summary says Etienne already has a girlfriend, so that’s a drama that always frustrates me. I thought it would be a painful love triangle. Months later, I visited my friends’ house, and they recommended and insisted I should read it, that I would love it, that it’s the type of book that I love. So I tried to read it. And I loved it.

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

This book was recommended to me by the same friend who recommended The Raven Cycle to me. She said that I would definitely love this book because I am a fangirl myself, and there was a lot of stuff I could relate with Cath. I was in a reading slump when my friend lend me her copy of Fangirl, but when I did finally read this, I loved it.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and the Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan

This was recommended to me by my friend, who recommended Anna and the French Kiss, and the sequel to me. Okay, so technically, I have not yet read this. Well, I did read a bit at the library but I didn’t finish it, and I never pick it up again after that. But lately, I’ve been listening to songs written based on these books, and some of my fav booktubers talked about these books and all the feels and so I feel like if I’ve already read it, I will very much love it.

Cirque du Freak: The Sage of Darren Shan by Darren Shan

This book was recommended to me by one of my good friends in high school. She knew I was in my “vampire” phase since year 7, and so she said I would like this book. She lend the first book to me, and I was immediately hooked! I’m really sorry I accidentally spoiled this book for her, and cause her to discontinue reading it πŸ˜₯

So, these are my top 5 fav books recommended to me. What are yours?

Thank you for reading πŸ™‚
